Me and my homeboy from Boston got into an argument about who is the King of the South. He said that Rick Ross is running the south and Yung Berg is the best new rapper. I didn’t know who Rick Ross was. I just remember some correctional officer cat named William Roberts who wouldn’t let me give my cousin the King Magazine with Trina on the cover talking about they were on the same label. so I found this video on YouTube of the Boss Ross. I don’t know if Rick Ross is the King of The South but is he right? Is my friend from Boston right? Is Yung Berg the best new rapper?

For the third year in a row, Denzel Washington comes in on top as America’s favorite movie star, beating Clint Eastwood at No. 2 and John Wayne and Will Smith, in a tie for No. 3, according to The Harris Poll.       

       Washington, who is about to begin shooting “The Book of Eli” opposite Jennifer Beals, also ranked No. 1 among Baby Boomers (those aged 44-62), and among Democrats, the company revealed in a press release Thursday.      

       Harrison Ford came in at No. 5, followed by Julia Roberts (No. 6), Tom Hanks (No. 7, down from No. 2), Johnny Depp (No. 8, down from No. 3), and two new additions to the list tied at No. 9 – Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman.

Adrienne Bailon of The Cheetah Girls decision to promote smut caused the group a lot of money. according to Bossip.com:

Rumors that Disney rid themselves of the Cheetah Girls are somewhat true according to Cheetah Girl stars Adrienne Bailon and Kiely Williams. “I think that the brand has come to an end,” says Bailon, who was caught in a nude photo scandal late last year. Dismissing rumors that Disney ended the franchise, which included several movies and merchandising deals, with the girls after Bailon’s nearly nude photos upset parents, Bailon says “Like everything, High School Musical will no longer be. Same thing. We had a great run.” Bailon and Kiely Williams, previously in the hit R&B group 3LW which hit a road bump when, now ‘Notorious’ star Naturi Naughton left the group at the peak of their success, look forward to other projects. While Bailon seems content with the end of the Cheetah Girls, Williams, who was rumored to have said that the group was fired due to Bailon’s photos and the backlash that……ensued afterward, says she’s sad that the photos put a damper on their ending. “We were excited about going out on a high note. According  to The Arizona Republic, DMX was sentenced 90 days in prison and 18 months supervised probation for various felony charges including drug possession, identity theft and animal cruelty.
“I’m not sentencing DMX today, I’m sentencing Earl Simmons. I don’t know DMX,” said Judge Phemonia Miller. ”Mr. Simmons, it’s time to do something different. What you have been doing is not working.”

 Sean “Diddy” Combs was sued on Wednesday by a glass artist Tom Patti,  who claims the hip-hop mogul’s design for his “Unforgivable” cologne bottle is a rip off according to the The Boston Globe.

Patti filed a suit against the rapper in Springfield, Mass claiming that the sleek, plastic crate that Diddy used to house his cologne is a knock off of the glass sculptures he made in the 80s.

“A couple of years ago, my phone started ringing,” the 65-year-old artist told the Globe. “Everywhere I went, people started congratulating me on the success of my fragrance container. I didn’t know what they were talking about. Eventually, I realized that Combs had replicated my work.”

Diamond sat down with Essence magazine to discuss what really ruined her marriage. Here are some excerpts:

ESSENCE.COM: There were some suggestive magazine photos that resurfaced which gave the [Turks and Caicos] country more ammunition to declare that you weren’t fit to be a First Lady. Did your husband ever defend you?

LISARAYE: I’m the First Lady and I knew that I could no longer do those kinds of photo shoots. They were old photographs from a few years ago and I’m an actress, so I know why that magazine chose to run them again. Still, I felt like when Michael asked me if I posed for that magazine he could have shown a bit more support and spoken on my behalf and said, “My wife would not do this.” When he questioned me, I said, “Are you serious? Might this be the same series of the photos and posters you framed and proudly said, ‘This is my wife?’” To not ask me as your wife before questioning me accusingly of something like that really hurt. Then people want to say no other First Lady would do this. Well, neither did I because it was done years ago, and quite frankly, the other First Ladies couldn’t pull that off if they wanted to.

ESSENCE.COM: How has your daughter, Kaienja “Kai” Pace, been holding up?

LISARAYE: My daughter is unfocused now. She was attending the University of Buckingham. She is back here in California and trying to find her way. That’s incredibly courageous of her and I’m disappointed in the lack of a responsibility on his part as a stepfather. My daughter spent her first six months before she started school with Michael while I worked in California. I was trying to help them establish a bond and promote family with him and it wasn’t easy. No one should be subjected to this when your intention was always to do well. This fairy tale has turned into a nightmare.

According to xxl.com,  Lil Wayne settled his copyright lawsuit with the Rolling Stones yesterday over a sample he used for one of his tracks.

 Abkco which owns parts of of the Roling Stones catalouge stated in their lawsuit that “Lil Wayne’s song “Playing with Fire” was a clear derivative of the rock band’s song with the original lyrics and music altered in a recognizable way,” reports Reuters.

The track was removed from Tha Carter III and taken off digital download, ringtone and ringback providers prior to the settlement, according to the press release. Additionally the announcement states “all parties expressed themselves satisfied with the amicable settlement.”
